Cancer research

During my second semester of my junior year, I was able to conduct cancer research in my Biochemistry 461 class. The cancer that I researched was on Glioblastoma cells or brain cancer cells. In fact, I was researching on a particular drug called Cisplatin and observed results on how it acted upon these drugs. Every other week I preformed treatment using different concentrations and recorded the results and reported to my instructor. This research has particularly helped me understand how cancer has affected the lives of many in our world and gave me an overview of conducting more research on it. In addition, I have learned about the principles of ethical research. For example, the research I was conducting were human cancer cells and while performing this research I learnt that I need to be responsible and honest while reporting databases as well as respect and care for the all the properties that I am using. I now understand ethics connected to research in the field of Biochemistry. This is because Biochemistry consists of a lot of rigorous research activity and doing this research has allowed me to analyze a lot of research papers and understand the requirements that I need in conducting any type of research related to my field. In fact, based on the result that I obtained from my finding I decided to research more into these cancer cells to understand on how we can prevent the illness.
